The Fourth Grade Coach

There is a thread in our lives that, when traced backward, reveals the passion for our calling long before we had a title for it. For me, that thread has always been coming alongside.

In the fourth grade, while school came easily to me, I watched others struggle. My first "coaching client" wasn't an executive; it was a boy named Gary. I was determined to help him master spelling and reading. That childhood determination evolved through decades of diverse roles into a sophisticated toolkit of listening and strategic questioning. Whether helping a founder build a business from the ground up or helping a leader overcome a massive organizational obstacle, the core mission remains: I am called to help you achieve your ambition.

The Gadite Connection

This lifelong drive to "come alongside" is why the Men of Gad have become a focal point of my study. In the biblical record, these warriors didn't just join David when he was king; they "came alongside" him in the wilderness. They were the ultimate allies—trained, tested, and fiercely loyal.

As I reflect on the "thread" of my own life, I realized that the modern marketplace is starving for this specific type of Gadite leadership. We don't just need more managers; we need Covenant Allies.

What to Expect in This Series

Over the next four weeks, I am going to break down the Gadite Standard for the modern marketplace. We will explore how to build teams that don't just work for you, but stand with you.

  • Week 1: Covenant over Contract – Building loyalty that survives the "wilderness."

  • Week 2: The Shield & The Spear – Mastering the technical fundamentals of your industry.

  • Week 3: The Countenance of the Lion – Developing psychological fortitude.

  • Week 4: The Agility of the Gazelle – Navigating economic and industry pivots.

The Core Question: Look back at your own "thread." Who was your "Gary"? And more importantly, who are you standing with today in the hard seasons?
